Leroy Hankins

Keyboards, Synthesizers, Percussion, Digiridoo

A true veteran of the music business, Leroy Hankins comes to Cal's show with quite an impressive history. Having worked with Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, The Blue Notes, Frank Cornelius of The Cornelius Bros and Sister Rose, Herman Kelly and Life (known for the hit "Dance to The Drummers Beat"), Leon Parker and Timmy Thomas ("Why Can't We Live Together") among many others.

An accomplished composer, Leroy writes and performs with his own project "The Anterian Observers" when not on the road with Cal. Besides his amazing skills on the keyboard and synthesizer, Mr. Hankins is also a world class percussionist. Trumpet and several exotic instruments such as the Digiridoo are included in his bag of tricks as well.

" I had met Leroy awhile back when he performed with Victoria in a Jazz ensemble. I had seen him that evening on percussion and was very impressed. However, it wasn't until much later that I found out he played so many different instruments. When I decided to add the additional Synth player I immediately called him and was elated when he said he was available and interested. Not only is he a truly gifted musician but he is probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet, a true gentleman and a good friend."
